User Experience is becoming one of the most important components of a product or a brand, and as a result, it is crucial to gain a holistic understanding of UX. Grasping the power of visual communication—realizing how easily one can lose or frustrate a user—is key. With a successful UX, users become completely immersed in what they are doing, allowing them to forget about the medium they are working with. In order to achieve this, you must understand who your users are, how they behave, what they want, and how to deliver it.
In this course, students will learn how to design and develop a product based on an understanding of its audience. It will also cover the meaning of UX for brands in terms of identity and interaction, best practices for development, and where UX is headed in the future.
Emmett Shine is the founder of Gin Lane Media, a creative team of "modern artisans and digital craftsmen" that develops strategies for brands and builds them through a variety of media. Gin Lane's impressive client list includes AOL, HBO, Helmut Lang, Stella McCartney, Rocawear, and Universal. Emmett holds a degree from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts for Photography & Imaging, and he is also a co-founder of LOLA New York.
Dan Kenger is a junior partner at Gin Lane Media. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Art & Information Sciences. Dan acts as Digital Creative Director for Gin Lane, and oversees the activation of campaigns for their award winning roster of global brands.
